DETALJNIJE

The Kosovo girl is the main character in the folk song of the same name: She is a young girl who wanders the battlefield after the battles in Kosovo, sings and sees the wounds of wounded warriors, and looks for a fiancé, godfather and brother-in-law, according to the folk song Toplica Milan, Miloš Obilić and Kosančić Ivan. Finally, she encounters a severely wounded warrior, according to the folk song, the knight Pavle Orlović, and while she is singing to him, who later dies in her arms, he tells her that all three were killed in battle.

Identity: according to folklore, the "Kosovo girl" was Jelica - the sister of the Serbian great Stevan Music. Music is known as a haughty lord who ruled in the town of Brvenik. Jelica Music was the sister of the Serbian prince Lazar, a Kosovo martyr. Milan Toplica, Miloš Obilić's brother, "stared" at Jelica. [1]

The song "Kosovo Girl" is one of the most beautiful songs in Kosovo together with the song "Death of Mother Jugović" and gained great popularity among the Serbian people as an allegory for care, help and love for loved ones.
