SERBIAN CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR'S STORIES - Group of Authors

Šifra: B-17-2

Brand: TANESI

A children's book that presents the holidays as they are. Maybe there are no elves and wizards, reindeer and magic, but that's why there are traces of the charm of Serbian tradition. Through the story, let your child understand the magic of cutting Christmas trees before Christmas, dinner on the floor on Christmas Eve and what Christmas really is. Christmas is one of the greatest Christian holidays, a symbol of our faith. That's exactly why a group of over 20 authors (among whom are some of the most famous Serbian writers) made an effort to convey exactly that to our youngest.

DETALJNIJE

Before you, dear reader, is the third collection of Christmas and New Year's stories by I.K. Tennessee prepared for you. Our Christmas is different from any other. Only a few New Year's decorations shine in a rich town house, there are no wizards, reindeer and fairies, as evidenced by almost all the stories in this collection, but our Christmas has its own special solemnity and peace: a break from a hard life and finding meaning in the much guarded sanctuary. A cross, at any cost, even from the heel veins!

Christmas, as a sign of faith, which is carried in the heart, was and remains a sanctuary and hiding place of Serbian tradition. How important Christ is to the Serbs is also evidenced by the churches built by the Serbs in the "Turkish era": the churches grew underground, in the depths, when they could not tear the heavenly virtues. In the harshest winters in the city and in the countryside, the father of the family, often a poor man, goes to the forest to cut Christmas trees. And every writer leaves a special mark on the experience of Christmas, either from his childhood or from long ago. Oak branches and leaves, on which there is still gold dust, is our Christmas tree, and sparks and dry logs crackling in the fire are the sound of our Christmas.

These stories are not sweet, but they are all born in closeness, and as if they grow from ourselves, from our ancestors, strengthening the roots, and reaching, through understanding and connection, to the canopy, to the branches and the sky in which we will all spread one day. . And Serbian storytellers claim that Christmas can warm our hearts always and at any time.
