Every part of Serbia is full of beauty, and these are amazing places to visit as soon as possible. Serbia is a country full of natural beauty, picturesque cities and rich history. As a country, Serbia has something to offer for everyone, and most for adventurers.
Serbianshop, an online store promoting Serbia and Serbian products, recommends you five favorites, five amazing places in Serbia to visit as soon as possible.
Uvac
The Uvac River and its entangled meanders are one of the most famous natural beauties of Serbia. This masterpiece of nature is located in western Serbia, near Sjenica and the beautiful Pester Plateau. In some places, the winding river turns even at 270 degrees. You can experience the most beautiful view of the meanders from the top called "Prayer", which is also reachable by car. Uvac Canyon is a special nature reserve and home to the Griffon vulture.
Vodopad Prskalo - Waterfall Sprayer
In an amazing game of water and limestone, this waterfall was created in lush greenery on the southern slopes of Mount Kuchaj. It is located in eastern Serbia, near Despotovac, the Monastery of Manasija and the Resava Cave, which you can visit by the way. The waterfall is 15 meters high and you will experience the most exciting sight after heavy rainfall.
Lazarev kanjon - Lazar's Canyon
Near Prskal is also Lazar's Canyon - the longest and deepest canyon in eastern Serbia. The river of the same name runs through it, and the nearest town is Bor. The view of Lazarus Canyon and its vertical and flat rocky cliffs is truly breathtaking. This is a challenge for real adventurers, especially due to the fact that the whole area is under-explored. The canyon is 9 kilometers long and up to 500 meters high and contains over 70 caves.
Donja Lokošnica
For those who want to get to know Serbia by its rich folk tradition, especially those related to gastronomy and friendly hosts, our suggestion is the village of Donja Lokošnica. It is located near Leskovac and is known for growing stringy peppers that thrive only here. The village that turns into red rows of peppers every year, hanging from the roof to the foundations of each house, is best visited from July to October. Along with delicious and fragrant peppers, this area is also known for its good barbecue and is a true paradise for lovers of good snack.
Taorska vrela - Taor spring
It is said that before the construction of a waterfall in the neighborhood, the Taor spring was once nicer than the Plitvice Lakes. The springs are located on the slopes of the Povlen Mountain, near Kosjerić, but no matter what the past, it still captures attention. Nearby are two old watermills, the remaining of the former 12, in which you can treat yourself to a kachamak made by our grandmother's old recipe. Kosjerić municipality is also known for its rural tourism, local food, untouched nature and friendly hosts.
