Saint Dimitri Basarbovski lived in the 17th century in the Bulgarian village of Basarbovo, leading a solitary life in a cave by the Lom River. According to tradition, he foresaw his death, lay down between two stones, and thus surrendered his soul to God. His relics were found after he appeared to a sick girl in a dream, promising her healing if they pulled him from the river where floods had carried him.
