LADA
Lada is the personification of the nature that gives life, fertility, giving birth and warm summer. She is represented as a young girl with long golden hair with gradients of sunset and sunrise, sometimes with a wheat coronal, a symbol of fertility.
Her rituals are mostly connected to marriage and choosing of a spouse. She is often mentioned in the wedding songs. She is celebrated in summer rites and processions of 'ladarice' or ‘kraljice’, ceremonies in which young girls pray for rain and fertility. She is the protector of love and marriage, and young girls would give her offerings as a symbol of their love for a chosen one, and women to keep their matrimonial happiness.
