The Mounting Process (Kaširanje): This icon is created using a specialized mounting technique, where a high-quality iconographic print is applied to a wooden MDF board under high pressure. This process ensures the icon remains stable, protected from warping, and faithfully conveys every detail of the Byzantine style, providing durability and a solid feel.
SAINT PETKA TRNOVA
The Holy Martyr Paraskeva, known among the people as Saint Petka Trnova, was born in Rome to a Christian family. Following the death of her parents, she distributed her wealth to the poor and became a nun, dedicating her life to preaching the faith of Christ. She suffered a martyr's death in the second century for her devotion.
The feast day of Saint Petka Trnova is celebrated on August 8th. This saint is particularly venerated as the patron of the blind and those with eye ailments, and the faithful pray to her for healing and spiritual peace. She is often distinguished from Saint Petka (Paraskeva of the Balkans) celebrated in October, as Trnova Petka holds a unique place as a symbol of perseverance through suffering.
The icon of Saint Petka Trnova should be placed on the eastern wall of your home to beautify your space and add solemnity to your celebrations. It is a distinguished gift—a sign of spiritual protection and blessing for loved ones.
