When celebrating St. Luke?
The Serbian Orthodox Church celebrates the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke on October 18 (according to the Julian calendar), that is, on October 31 according to the Gregorian calendar. The holy apostle and evangelist Luke was a physician and friend of the apostle Paul.
In 1453, Đurađ Branković transferred the relics of the Apostle Luke to Smederevo, from where they were taken to Bosnia in 1459, and then to Dubrovnik in 1463, and then to Venice. Today, the relics are in the church of St. Nicholas in Padova, and on July 31, 2018, a part of the relic was received by the church of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke in Subjelo, Kosjerić municipality, during the ministry of priest Vladimir Vuleta. Part of these relics were transferred to Subjel from the church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Lešje monastery, near Paraćin.
