Saint Vasilije Ostroški, also known as Saint Vasilije Ostroški the Wonderworker, was the bishop of Zahum and a Serbian Orthodox saint.

He was born as Stojan Jovanović in the village of Mrkonjići, Popovo polje, near Trebinje.

He died in 1671. His relics and his grave are kept in the monastery in Ostrog to this day. Both Christians and Muslims believe in their power of healing and comfort. A large National Assembly is held in Ostrog every year on Trinity Day.

The Serbian Orthodox Church celebrates Saint Basil of Ostrog on May 12, according to the Gregorian calendar (April 29, according to the Julian calendar). The most imposing, most monumental Orthodox temple dedicated to St. Vasiliju, is the one in Nikšić. It is the endowment of Montenegrin Prince Nikola I Petrović.
