DETALJNIJE
The coat of arms of Serbia is the official heraldic symbol and one of the symbols of the sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia. It was recommended on August 17, 2004, together with other state symbols, and adopted on May 19, 2009, when it replaced the previous emblem inherited from the communist period.
It shows a two-headed eagle of Nemanjić, wearing a small red shield with a cross and four bonfires, and golden lilies (lilies), on a large red shield crowned with a royal crown and clad in a cloak of a large weasel, also crowned with the same crown. The coat of arms is almost identical to the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Serbia and represents an act of returning the historical coat of arms of Serbia.
Although it is a republic, Serbia has returned the crown to its traditional coat of arms, which is not new, because some countries, such as Russia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Hungary, Montenegro, etc., also use the heraldic crown, although they are not monarchies.
