 06.01.2026.

Christmas is the most joyous holiday in Orthodoxy - the time when the home turns into a cave of Bethlehem, and the family into an arch of peace and love. Although we live faster today, the essence of Christmas remains the same.

1. The Badnjak (Yule Log)

It symbolizes strength and warmth. Even a small oak branch in the apartment, along with straw and walnuts, brings blessings to the home.

2. Incense and Censer

The smoke of incense symbolizes our prayer rising to heaven. The smell of basil and incense is the "identity card" of every Orthodox home before Christmas.

5. The Icon of Nativity
