Why do Serbs love the pub?
One of the most important institutions in Serbian culture and social life is the tavern. A pub is a second home to most Serbs, so if you want to get to know a Serb in the right way, a pub is the right place for such a thing. In the tavern, people drink coffee, eat, drink, have fun with good music, joke and talk every day.

The custom of drinking coffee in a tavern was brought to our area by the Turks, who were the first to open a tavern in Dorćol, at the end of the sixteenth century. In it, coffee was served and tobacco was smoked in hookahs.
Our online store tries to preserve the pub tradition of the Serbs through its assortment, and accordingly we offer: painted glasses, flasks, mugs, mugs, which are certainly synonymous with pub life.

Belgrade got the largest number of taverns in the nineteenth century, and since then taverns have been an indispensable part of the life, growing up and cultural maturation of every Serb who cares about him. In them, life was celebrated, various jubilees were celebrated, every important event was marked, and people mourned and rejoiced in them.
The most important deals from the world of business were concluded in the tavern, where revolutions were started, assassinations were planned, politics were clarified, people loved and hated, cursed and sang. It is the same today.

Taverns used to look different. Some were unsightly, dirty, with dirt floors, blackened walls, some were shiny, shabby, dressed up, with checkered tablecloths and tin tiles. But three things are crucial for every tavern: good food, an interesting owner and regular guests who have become very much at home in the tavern. The good reputation and fate of the tavern depended on these things. It's no secret that Serbian artists and writers adored taverns where they left an indelible mark that made taverns famous.
Skadarlija would not be what it is if it were not for Đura Jakšić, Nušić, Veselinović, Ujević, Domanović and many others who got the best ideas for their works in taverns such as Three Hats, Dva Jelena, Dardanelles and many others. It was a fair exchange between these great men and Belgrade taverns, and not only Belgrade ones.
The tavern also brought us big names like Toma Zdravković, who was certainly a bohemian man, he dedicated his life to the tavern. On serbianshop you can find his CD with the best songs of all time.
Taverns exist throughout our country, in every town and village. If there is no pub in a place, it probably doesn't exist or is definitely disappearing, shutting down. So, we are talking about the last institution that Serbs unreservedly trust and which has not let them down.
Therefore, if you want to truly understand the inhabitants of our wonderful country, the direction of the cafe. You will enjoy, have a good time and find out everything you are interested in, for example who will win the eternal derby tonight, who will be the next president of the USA - or what are Putin's secret plans for Europe. The pub knows that, and much more. If you don't believe me, check it out, stop by the nearest pub! Cheers!
